Try to come early if you can. Callahan's tends to be VERY busy on Homecoming night. I'll try to save as many seats as I can, but can't guarantee anything. I will be out on the patio. If you miss getting to Callahan's, try to come over to the football game at the high school. The game will start at 7pm. Hi Everyone!
As many of you know, the class of 79 is getting ready to have their 30 year reunion on Sept. 12th. They have opened up their reunion to any interested classmates, and because of that, a lot of our friends are coming into town. One of those friends has asked me to get some people together for a little party before the party - on Friday night, Sept 11th. Tammy (Ludwig) Cox is coming to town for a few days, and we need to welcome her home! Please join me at Callahan's, Friday the 11th at 6:30 pm to welcome home one of Mira Mesa High's sweethearts. Pass the word on to any alumni you think may be interested. Feel free to post this on your FaceBook page as well. It would be great to see a lot of friendly faces! We haven't had the chance to get together for quite some time, so hopefully we'll have a good turnout! It will be great to see a BUNCH of you show up! We will probably be sitting outside on the patio - if it's warm enough. If not, just give a quick look around and I bet you'll find us. We'll be piggy-backing along with the SR/MM "I was an 80's Teen and Survived Facebook Group" again this time - hoping to get a better turnout. We're having the official April gathering at Filippi's in Mira Mesa/Scripps.

Since I was told that their drinks are "pretty cheap as it is" (why they don't have happy hour), it will be at 8pm on a Friday night in the private room in the bar (the reservation is under "Facebook Group", but we'll be easy to find!). FYI: For those who don't like to get home by midnight on a Fri night, there's a good chance that some of us will head someplace else afterwards. :-) Those who have attended other gatherings have said it's been a lot of fun... hope more of you can join us this time! **SO WE CAN GIVE THEM AN ACCURATE COUNT, PLEASE DO NOT RSVP "ATTENDING" UNLESS YOU ARE REASONABLY CERTAIN YOU'LL BE THERE... and please change your RSVP if you change your mind any time up to that evening. We'll be "piggy-backing" this get together onto the "SR/MM 80s Teen Face Book Group" that is meeting there at the same time. Happy hour is from 4p-7p (which is why I listed that as the end time)... but we'll likely be there well beyond that. Come join us! We haven't had the chance to get together for quite some time, so hopefully we'll have a good turnout! It will be great to see a BUNCH of you show up! Once everyone shows up, I'd like to talk to the group about the possibility of maybe doing a "Multi-Year" Alumni - Family & Friends Cruise. Please join us as we get together with our Mira Mesa High Classmates to party in Las Vegas. We are scheduling this meetup to try to accomodate friends who live in different parts of the country that might be able to meet us for a fun weekend in Las Vegas. This will be like a "mini - multiple year reunion". Invite your alumni friends - all years are welcome - and lets have a blast in Sin City. I will post updates to the planned events as decisions are made. Right now we have dates locked in, (April 11th to the 13th, 2008) so mark your calendar, start looking for cheap flights, and plan to join us! As most of you know, Tio Leo's is a small, cozy venue, and is centrally located in Mira Mesa. The live music starts at 9pm, but arrive early to get good seats. I'll save as many as I can, according to the number of RSVPs we have. The band is called "The Hype" and are a group of "40-somethings" that know how to ROCK! They play a little bit of everything - Stray Cats to Coldplay to The Stones, Cheaptrick, Smashmouth and just about everything in between! They have a pretty big following, so come early to be sure to get a seat. If you haven't been to a meetup in a while, where have you been? (Eddy, Bobbie, Nancie, Rich, Erin, Jon, and all the others...you know who you are! WE MISS YOU!) If you've joined this group, and live in town, and still haven't been to a meetup, WHAT'S KEEPING YOU! This is a fun, lively, easy going group of old friends, and we'd LOVE to have you join us! Before the music starts we'll be (hopefully) putting the finishing touches on the plans for the Mini-Mulit-Year-Reunion/Meetup in April.
