I'm not sure how many of you knew Mark Taylor, Class of 81, but I wanted to pass on some tragic news.

RAMONA - A man who was killed when his motorcycle collided with a sedan has been identified as a 46-year-old Ramona resident.

Mark Taylor was unable to avoid colliding with a 2007 Dodge sedan in the 1600 block of Hanson Lane about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Brian Pennings. Taylor died at the scene.

It happened in front of Olive Pierce Middle School.

The driver of the sedan, 28-year-old Katrina Flippin of Ramona, was making a U-turn when she went directly into the path of Taylor's 1993 Honda motorcycle, Penning said, adding that Flippin was not hurt in the crash.

Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, according to Pennings.

Mark was a wonderful friend to me for many years, and although I haven't talked to him but a few times in the last couple of years, we were still in touch through emails and Face Book. The world has lost a wonderful man.
